Construction of a Six-Bed Isolation Block at Korem General Hospital

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), which translates to Doctors Without Borders, is an international non-profit association. MSF provides assistance to populations in distress, to victims of natural or man-made disasters and to victims of armed conflict, irrespective of race, religion, creed or political convictions, and guided by medical ethics and the principles of impartiality, independence and neutrality.
In Ethiopia, MSF provides humanitarian assistance in different regions, including Tigray, Amhara and Afar, with its country coordination office based in Addis Ababa.
MSF Belgium is actively supporting Korem General Hospital (KGH) in Korem Town, Ethiopia, in collaboration with the relevant Regional Health Bureau and hospital authorities.
As part of its support to Korem General Hospital and in response to the need for improved infection prevention and control and patient isolation capacity, MSF plans to construct a dedicated six-bed Isolation Block within the hospital premises.
The planned facility will have a capacity of six (6) individual patient bedrooms/beds and an approximate total floor area of 192 m². The construction works will include the building and associated works as detailed in the tender documents, drawings, technical specifications and Bill of Quantities (BoQ).
To support this initiative, MSF Belgium is seeking qualified and experienced General/Building Contractors (Grade 5 and above) with demonstrated experience in construction and/or renovation of healthcare facilities or similar building projects.

Submission of Bids
Contractors shall submit their sealed bids from 3rd Nov to 4th Nov 2026, during official office hours, to the MSF Belgium office, located in Korem Town, Korem General Hospital.

All bid documents must be submitted in sealed envelopes, clearly labeled with the bidder's name, address, legal stamp, and the project title:

Bidders are required to submit:
- One (1) original and one (1) copy of the Technical Proposal; and
- One (1) original and one (1) copy of the Financial Proposal.
The technical and financial proposals must be prepared separately and individually sealed before being submitted to MSF Belgium at the address indicated above.
