1. .The Afar National Regional State Water and Energy Bureau has received funds from UNICEF towards the cost of Rural Water Supply System Construction Works and it intends to apply part of the funds to cover eligible payments under the Contract for Construction of Civil Works, Supply & Installation of Pipes, Fittings, ElectroMechanical Equipment, and Solar System for Su'ula-Manda-Daba Multi Village Water Supply System in Elida'ar Woreda (Phase I).
2. The Afar Regional State Water and Energy Bureau now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for the Construction of Civil Works, Supply & Installation of Pipes, Fittings, Electro-Mechanical Equipment, and Solar System for Su'ula-Manda-Daba Multi Village Water Supply System in Elida'ar Woreda (Phase 1).
3. Bidding will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding (NCB), a procedure specified in the Afar National Regional Government Procurement Guideline and is open to all bidders from eligible Sources / Countries as defined in the Guidelines.
4. Bids shall be valid for a period of 120 (One Hundred Twenty) days after Bid opening. Bids must be accompanied by the bid security amount indicated in the table above in the form 9f Unconditional Bank Guarantee or CPO. Bids shall be delivered on or before 10:00 am, April 24, 2023. Bids shall be opened at 10:30 am, April 24, 2023, in the presence of bidders who wish to attend. Electronic bidding shall not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected.
5. Qualification requirements include: Competency certificate of water works for Grade 2 & above having: (i) valid business licenses & certificates, (ii) Essential Manpower, Machinery & Equipment (iii) Experience in similar projects or equivalent documentation requirements from an appropriate government body and other relevant information as specified in the bidding document. Additional details are provided in the bidding document.
6. A complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased directly from the Afar National Regional State Water and Energy Bureau upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Birr 1,000.00 (One Thousand birr) by interested bidders coming to the address indicated below:
7. Bidders should present renewed Water Works Competency Certificate Grade 1 and Trade License for the year 2015 EFY, VAT, TIN, Tax Clearance, and Suppliers registration certificate.
