Performance-Based Financing (PBF) Programme – Cordaid Ethiopia
| About Cordaid | Cordaid is a Dutch, international non-governmental organization that combines 100 years of experience and expertise in emergency aid and structural poverty eradication. CORDAID believes in a world without poverty and exclusion. We strive for a just and sustainable society where every person counts. We stand for knowledge and talent sharing between North and South, between farmers and businesses, and between activists and policymakers. Where poverty, conflict, and exclusion tear up societies, we connect people and communities. We also stand for professionalism, expertise, and solidarity across borders, to make a difference where it is most needed. Together with more than 600 partner organizations in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America we structurally improve the living conditions of the poorest and most excluded populations - the bottom billion. Since 2015, Cordaid Ethiopia has been implementing Performance-Based Financing (PBF) in close partnership with the Federal Ministry of Health, Regional Health Bureaus, health facilities, communities, and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (EKN). What began as a pilot in Borena Zone has grown into one of Ethiopia's leading health systems strengthening programmes, now covering more than 270 primary and secondary health facilities across multiple regions. The programme has strengthened health governance, improved service quality, expanded access to care for women and children, introduced digital innovations, and enhanced the motivation and performance of frontline health workers. It has also generated valuable evidence that continues to inform national health financing reforms. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

The documentary will present the voices and experiences of those who have shaped and benefited from the programme, illustrating how long-term partnership, local leadership, and innovation have contributed to strengthening Ethiopia's health system. Cordaid seeks to recruit a qualified multimedia production company to produce a compelling, broadcast-quality documentary and complementary visual communication products. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
