Alternative to Plastics Challenge: Driving Innovation for a Circular Ethiopia

Reach for Change Ethiopia – in partnership with Tamra for Social Development Organization (TSDO), with financial support from Norwegian Church Aid (NCA)

Reach for Change Ethiopia invites qualified and experienced individual consultants to apply for the position of Individual Enterprise Development Coach and Trainer for the Alternative to Plastics Challenge: Driving Innovation for a Circular Ethiopia.

The assignment will provide hands-on enterprise development, coaching, training, selection, market linkage, and project coordination support throughout the programme. The consultant will work closely with Reach for Change, TSDO, participating entrepreneurs, buyers, investors, and other ecosystem stakeholders to strengthen enterprise development, commercialization, investment readiness, and market opportunities.

About the Assignment

The consultant will support the programme across its implementation cycle, from applicant engagement and enterprise selection through incubation, monitoring and learning, investment readiness, buyer engagement, Demo Day, B2B matchmaking, and post-event partnership follow-up.

The assignment will be implemented over six (6) months, with up to 132 working days, combining office-based work, field visits, coaching, stakeholder engagement, and participation in key programme activities.

Key Responsibilities

The selected consultant will provide practical support in:

• Applicant Engagement E Selection: Information sessions, application platform support, application screening, technical review, selection committee facilitation, due diligence, and field
• Enterprise Onboarding E Coaching: Induction of selected entrepreneurs, tailored business coaching, monitoring, learning, spot checks, and field verification.
• Investment Readiness: Investor-readiness coaching, pitch preparation, business presentation development, and preparation for engagement with investors and financial
• Market Linkage: Buyer and investor mapping, market preparation, stakeholder engagement, B2B matchmaking, and partnership development.
• Demo Day E Exhibition: Preparation and facilitation of Demo Day and exhibition activities and support to entrepreneurs in engaging with buyers, investors, and strategic
• Follow-Up E Partnership Management: Tracking commercial, investment, procurement, distribution, technical, and strategic opportunities generated through programme activities.
• Project E Expert Coordination: Coordination of sector-specific experts and coaches and ensuring that technical assistance responds to enterprise needs and development stages.

Key Deliverables

Key outputs will include:

• 2–3 applicant information sessions and applicant support
• Completed application screening and selection support
• Due diligence and field assessment reports
• Induction and onboarding workshop
• Monitoring, learning, and field verification inputs
• Investor-readiness and pitch coaching
• Buyer, investor, and strategic partner mapping
• Pre-showcase coaching
• Demo Day and exhibition facilitation
• Structured B2B matchmaking sessions
• Partnership and opportunity tracking and follow-up
• Consolidated expert/coach coordination and technical assistance report
• Final report documenting activities, enterprise progress, outcomes, lessons learned, challenges, and recommendations.

Required Qualifications E Experience

Interested candidates should demonstrate:

• At least a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Entrepreneurship, Economics, Development Studies, Project Management, or a relevant
• Strong experience in business coaching, mentorship, enterprise incubation, acceleration, and Business Development Services (BDS).
• Experience in entrepreneurship and business development training and
• Experience supporting green businesses, circular economy enterprises, climate enterprises, waste management, sustainable manufacturing, alternative materials, or related sectors.
• Strong understanding     of     business     model     development,     market    assessment, commercialization, and customer acquisition.
• Experience in investment readiness, investor pitching, buyer mapping, business matchmaking, market linkage, and partnership development.
• Experience in enterprise assessment, due diligence, field verification, or business
• Strong facilitation, analytical, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management
• Familiarity with Ethiopia’s entrepreneurship, green economy, circular economy, and SME ecosystem is highly desirable.
