 IDA Crdit 4292 ET & IDA- Grant 287-ET

Supply of Pipes and Fittings

MWSSO/IDA/G-PF/02-2012

1.  This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this Project that appeared in Development Business Website on August 17, 2007.

2.   The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received from the International Development Association toward the cost of Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this Credit to payments under the Contract for procurement of Pipes and Fittings.

3.  The Mekelle Water Supply Services Office now invites sealed bids from eligible and  qualified bidders for Supply of Pipes and Fitrtings.

4.  Bidding will be conductedthrough the International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures specified in the World Bank's Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and are open toall bidders from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the Guidelines.

5.  Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from Mekelle City Water and Sewerage Service; gidab71@yahoo.comand inspect the Bidding Documents at the address given below paragraph 9 from Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 12:30 pm  Morning & 1:30 pm to 5:30 pm afternoon.

 6. Qualifications requirements include:  Bidder should have the experience on supplying at least one contracts of similarsizes and nature in the last three years, supported with names of clients, value and type of contracts. Information of audited financial statement of the firm for the last three years, Average annual turnover for the last three years at least equivalent to the contract amount. Product ISO authorization shall be attached to the document in compliance to the specification. A margin of preference for certain goods manufactured domestically shall be applied. Additional details are provided in the Bidding Documents.

7.   A complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders directly from Mekelle City Water and Sewerage Service, on the submission of written application to the address below and up on payment of a non refundable fee ETB 500.00 (Five hundred birr) starting from the first announcement of this notice on the Ethiopian Herald in office hours until closing date and time as specified in Paragraph 8.

8.      Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 21- April-14 @ 10:00am. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected.  Bids will be opened in thepresence of the bidders' representatives who choose to attend in person at the address below at 21- April-14, 10:30 AM. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of Br.100, 000(One Hundred Thousand) or an equivalent amount ina freely convertible currency.
